Sophomore: I came to this school without having visited campus at all, and I'm so grateful that my move-in day was when I first got to experience it, with all my fellow freshman around me. I also have never had an issue with safety which is always a perk :)). The experience is something so much better than you can imagine and you really feel like you are making a difference. Since the school is only 3000 undergraduate students it is a lot easier for you to get an opportunity in research or in other student organizations compared to being at a university with 40000 students. When they say don't apply to schools because they have low tuition, they are totally right! IIT had the highest tuition for me when applying, but it ended up being the cheapest school to attend because of my scholarship award. Not to mention it's awesome to take an adventure to Chicago every weekend since it is so close to us and they give a ton of money in scholarships.

It makes the fatigue of studying a lot easier on a lot of us. The people here are very enthusiastic and are good at keeping up with the workload. Read 1,284 reviewsįreshman: I love my university. It didn't hurt that the school is in Manhattan, and in my favorite part!. Also, the research materials were endless.

They were all working and teaching, so it was the best of both worlds. Even though it was only an elective class, I found it fascinating and the professor, who was visiting from England, was very engaging and enjoyed his work. We saw rings of Saturn, Jupiters moons, storms on Jupiter, star clusters, and more. There's a telescope on campus and I'll never forget our class meeting at 9pm one night to view the planets and see what astronomers actually did. The work load was definitely heavy, but I learned more there than anywhere else I have been since then. They always challenged me to be open to possibilities and to figure things out from all angles.
